When it comes to visualizing the overall goal, I gave myself a 2. I still have a lot to learn about what I hope to accomplish with the program in the future. This is a goal that I am unable to achieve because of my difficulty in visualizing goals. Reading and analyzing complex texts is another 2 of my goals. This goal would be intermediate because I know future DMFTs are always reading and analyzing text. It is difficult for me to set actionable objectives because they are constantly changing. This goal is intermediate because it is something I consider a long-term one, which I will have to achieve as I continue with my education. Final goal is to self-evaluate my skills and my progress. Because I am continually growing in education, I am slowly evaluating myself and my progress.

These are all threes because I feel that I have mastered these goals. I understand and can apply the academic policy at Northcentral University. I also know how to cite APA, perform an online library research, and manage my time. This is because all three of these are things I consider to be mastered. I am confident that I will achieve my goals by attending Northcentral. When it comes to performing an online library research, I consider myself a master because I am familiar with the current databases and know how to utilize them effectively. My planner helps me to manage my time. I know when I have free time and I dedicate that time to the assignments I need to complete. My family, who always stressed the importance of managing my time well with assignments, has influenced my approach to time management. Both my professors and supervisors have also influenced my decision to manage time.

Visualizing the overall goal is a 2. Intermediate goals are a 2. This is because when I started this doctoral degree program, I wasn’t sure what my goal was. I want to work with children in a hospital, private practice or county setting. For a long time, I wanted to be there for children. I would give them the tools or techniques to deal with their struggles.

Northcentral University was an easy and quick transition for me. This goal is a 3. After Argosy closed, I felt like my hopes of becoming an MD were over. I was stressed and panicked. Northcentral University was the first school I found when searching for schools where to transfer. Northcentral University was helping me to feel less stressed by transferring. After I became a Northcentral University student, I felt my goals within my reach once again. I was full of hope. It is good to know that the academic integrity of the university comes down to the choice made by the student to differentiate their voice and the voices from others.

Because it was so easy for me because I had learned APA at my undergraduate college. It was easy to understand when I entered graduate school. It’s true, even though I know how to do it, I still find it difficult to cite my sources. This is a skill I am working on, and it can be improved.

In my opinion, I am able to apply and understand the Academic Integrity policy. Therefore, I give it a score of 3. The Academic Integrity policy was read thoroughly, and I began to understand my university’s expectations. Academic Integrity is important. Many take someone else’s work, claim it as theirs or do not link the work to its original source. Argosy’s policy was similar, but it is also easy to understand.

Because I have a hard time reading complex texts and analyzing them, I gave it a 2. While I struggle to read the results from articles, I have no trouble reading the readings that are required for my class. The information in the material is not up to date, and I have to read it again. In order to fully understand the material, I try to do this. Rereading assignments and articles can help me. I may have already read the material, so rereading refreshes and improves my memory.

I’d rate my comfort level with an online library query at 3. I can do it for class or for myself. NCU library allows me to easily search for information about my subject or clients. It is through the NCU Library search engine that I am able to gain knowledge and become a more effective therapist. I am not ashamed to admit that sometimes I forget to use certain search engines to locate articles. This is something I must do in order to be a better therapist.

It is difficult to manage time, but with the passage of time and my adaptation to it, I have become accustomed to it. With this skill, I awarded myself a 3. I have learned to manage my own time better and to devote that time towards my homework. I also find that managing my time helps me better balance my schoolwork and personal life. It also helps to have a planner so I know what tasks need to be completed. My life is made easier by managing my time. I hate to procrastinate and my best work gets lost when I do. Procrastinating causes me to forget important points I wanted to discuss at the beginning. This was my immediate goal. I have learned it and adapted it very quickly.

The goal was to set both immediate goals and intermediate goals. This skill has immediate and interim goals. While I think I’ve set myself attainable goals, creating them is difficult because I do not know what’s ahead. I adapt my goals depending on what is happening. In the context of goals, it is important to evaluate your skills and track your progress. I rate this skill a 2, because it has intermediate goals and is something that can be mastered. When I assess myself, however, I tend to underestimate my progress. As I continue to learn, I can see the progress I’ve made since the first day of classes.

The chart template was a good way to see the different skills, but it was also difficult to track and manage. The one skill I felt was most helpful and enjoyable to me out of all the ones listed is time management. My time management has improved as I pursued higher education. One skill I find difficult to master is the ability to read and understand complex texts. When I was at Argosy University we only received the assignment, followed the format and turned it in. I had no idea if my professors were correct or if they gave me an accurate response to the article. I was told to read the articles in a shorter way, but that would mean I wouldn’t fully understand them.

It would be ideal to achieve all of these goals, because I need to succeed in my schoolwork, both before and after I graduate, and in my work in the field of marriage and family, providing services and therapy to clients. Reading for personal reasons is important, but I also want to be able to provide information about my situation and educate clients, based on the diagnosis. The therapist can also benefit from reading and analyzing the text.

Getting SocialThere’s a number of events listed on the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists site, such as CAMFT Annual Conferences, CAMFT advocates attending a Washington DC senator, Medicare needing LMFTs and a 10-day Southern California event focusing on mental illness and how CAMFT can help those in need.

These events are all very interesting because they have to do with marriage and Family Therapy. It was great to see so many CAMFT participants at social events, and also the information about the conference. It was great to see how CAMFT members participated in social events. It was interesting to read all of the posts, since many LMFTs and therapists are getting educated or licensed. This information is helpful for us as we work towards obtaining our hours and license. Topics not addressed were the importance of LMFTs in the mental-health world, how statistics were not provided to help understand mental health’s seriousness, and how early intervention is most effective.

Each day during the week, information was shared that would be helpful to LMFTs in the future or current as well. Every day, I get a small refresher of the information or learn something. This is helpful for students to help them with research. They can get ideas or suggestions for dissertations and research proposals. The CAMFT annual conference was a great opportunity to hear from guest speakers who presented information about their populations or research. I would have adapted so many of the information presented by all the guests into my own research or sessions. I would have liked to attend as well.

Low engagement between the organization’s followers and its events. The organization seems to post daily little memos and events, but the followers don’t appear to reply very often. When I looked at the posts from the organization, it was clear that they did not respond to any posts. From what I’ve seen, the organization rarely replies. Even though the organization posts daily, they only respond to a small number of followers. The followers tag people when they reply to the post. These posts had more of an educational or informational purpose. The organization has not responded to posts from followers.

On their Facebook page, I cannot find any information about the ethical standards and expectations of this organization. CAMFT must first post its ethical standards and expectation on social media and Facebook. It would also be a good idea to make sure that the standards and expectations are clearly visible. Confidentiality is a standard I would recommend CAMFT put in place, as it is a major consideration for LMFT.

It is important to maintain confidentiality because it allows the therapist to ensure that their client feels secure and trusts them. Bonnie R. Benitez (2004) says that therapists must maintain confidentiality. They can be held responsible for civil liability and criminal action if they do not. Bonnie R. Benitez, (2004), states “Marriage and family therapists will not divulge confidential information, including patient names and identities, unless it is mandated by law or allowed by law. Files should be locked and kept in a cabinet. This protects clients’ confidentiality.

Responsibility towards clients is another ethical expectation. The therapist has a duty to educate and encourage clients about the rules of psychiatry, including any abuse against children or elders, abuse towards adults, or becoming ill or dangerous to others or themselves. This standard is meant to remind therapists of their duty to keep clients safe and protected. As a client’s therapist, you have a responsibility to protect and care for them both during and outside of sessions. Marriage and Family Therapy is also known as “Duty To Protect”, because it is a duty that you have to your clients.

Third, non-discrimination towards race, religion or sexual orientation. We are LMFTs and we help all ethnicities in need of services. No dual relationship would exist between client and therapist. The client would not be able to engage in sexual activity with the therapist when they seek therapy. The therapist’s fees would be a good indicator for the website. The client could pay with cash or their insurance. I, as a therapist, expect my clients to know their appointment times and if they do not, the client will be held responsible for payment or can cancel/reschedule 24 hours in advance.

Marriage and Family Therapists should be aware of the many ethical standards that they have to adhere to. These are more in line with the ones I mentioned earlier. Other things are also important, but these were the most basic. As a LMFT, you are expected to provide services when clients require them. It is unethical to leave a client unattended, neglected, or abandoned while away. To be ethical, it would make sense to give clients the most assistance possible.

I was impressed by the diversity of the organization and their cultural competence. The pictures gave me the impression that we all are the same, despite our differences. In the photos, it was evident that the conference attendees came from many different ethnicities and cultures. I didn’t see a statement made explicitly at the CAMFT conference or Facebook page.

MFTs can improve their field by improving the diagnosis of clients at their first appointment. The MFT will benefit as sessions continue from the continuing education or trainings. They can gain a greater understanding of a subject, have re-enforced what they are doing or be able to better understand the subject. Learn more about Californian or American cultures by reading and educating yourself. It is important to be well-prepared for the MFT career. This includes having a good understanding of the clients you will encounter and the type of training that they require.

Making a connectionI feel the goals mentioned at the start would help me achieve my doctoral education. I could be a better learner and acquire the necessary knowledge, more adaptable to time and tasks, better able to write and analyse papers and journals to prepare me for the doctoral programs in applied marriage therapy. Self-evaluation and visualizing goals would be easier over time while pursuing a degree in doctoral counseling. This is because I also need to get my LMFT hours.

Although I consider myself to be intermediate, there is still much to learn. These skills are familiar to me because I had to adapt them during my masters degree and the beginning of my doctorate at Argosy University. As I continued my education, I had to get used to these skills. Understanding how I can achieve my goals at Northcentral University will help me earn my doctorate degree. I have mastered APA citations as well as online library searching and time management skills during the initial phases of my graduate degree. As I transferred to Northcentral University, my understanding of their academic integrity policies was clear and understood.

These skills will help me to be successful with my doctorate degree, because they are the same skills needed to be successful. I knew time management was essential in a doctoral program. I had been practicing this skill since I began my masters in counseling psychology and masters in arts at Argosy University. My planner was filled with important dates for classes, assignments, and my client appointments. My planner helped balance my time between graduate school and spending time with friends and family. However, as my schooling progressed, I was forced to sacrifice my personal time to complete and finish assignments. My time is more important now that I’m in private practice. I must manage it better to attend classes online and work on my masters or doctoral degrees.
